Homemade Carrot Crisps

Fancy some crisps to snack on for movie night but don’t want to face the supermarket? Why not try making these Carrot Crisps?

They take about 45 minutes to make and can use up the leftover carrots you have rolling round in your fridge.

INGREDIENTS

Carrots

Large Pinch of Salt

Vegetable Oil

METHOD

First peel the skin off your carrot normally. Then with your peeler repeatedly peel long slices of carrot.

Place the carrot slices in a bowl, add a large pinch of table salt and mix so the carrots are coated.

Set aside the mixing bowl for 15 minutes while your oven preheats to 200°C.

After 15 minutes since the salt off the carrots and dry in between layers of kitchen roll or towels.

Place the carrot slices on a pre lined baking tray, drizzle over some vegetable oil and massage it into the carrot slices on both sides.

Place in the oven for approximately 20 minutes, checking after 15 minutes to see if the carrots have gone crispy.

Bring them out of the oven and transfer to a cooling rack to allow them to crispen fully.

Serve warm or cool, they will last a day or so if kept in a sealed container.
