Autumn 2021: Top 3 Snacks

Today marks my first full week of Maternity Leave from my day job. Everyone keeps telling me to put my feet up and relax so I thought I'd share my current top 3 snacks while I do so!

Welsh Cakes

If you’ve never tried Welsh Cakes or Pics before you are missing out. They are a griddled spiced sweet bread studded with currents. They can be eaten warm with butter, cold with jam or cheese, or if you’re like me, plain straight from the pan. My dad and I go through them so quickly my mum makes a double batch if she wants them to last for more than an afternoon.

Apple with Cheese

Throughout this pregnancy I’ve been slightly obsessed with apples. One of my go to snacks has been a sliced apple paired with sliced Cheddar Cheese. The combination is so satisfying and keeps me full for a while. It's such an easy snack to put together, it’s almost too obvious to write about.

Cashews with Cranberries

My last snack again is a really simple snack that can be thrown together in minutes. I love mixing Salted cashews with dried cranberries. The salty nuts with the sweet and sour flavour of the cranberries is amazing. If I’m feeling it I'll add dark chocolate chunks to the mix a male it a really satisfying treat!
