Simple Spaghetti Bolognese

Simple Spaghetti Bolognese

I love having a Simple Bolognese Sauce to hand. It’s so easy to put with spaghetti or use as the meat sauce for a lasagna.

That’s why I tend to make this sauce in bulk and freeze the majority in portions for later, like for a quick and easy Monday night dinner!

As all Bolognese sauces should be this one is rich and flavourful. It takes some time to make but its definitely worth the wait.

Serves 8

INGREDIENTS

1kg Beef

2 Brown Onions

3 Cans Chopped Tomatoes

1 Tin Tomato Puree

1 Vegetable stock cube

1 Tablespoon Smoked Minced Garlic

1 Tablespoon Oregano

3 Cans Water

METHOD

Dice the onions, add to a large pan with some oil and leave to soften slightly.

Once the onions have softened, add the minced beef.

Stir until the meat has browned slightly.

Add the oregano and garlic, stir everything together.

Add the tomato puree and crumble in vegetable stock cube. Mix everything together.

Add the three cans of chopped tomatoes to the pan. Using one of the cans fill up with water and add three cans of water to the pan.

Stir everything together, then put the pan on the back burner.

Bring the contents of the pan to the boil then turn the heat down, so the contents can simmer. Leave to simme for a couple of hours until the liquid in the pan has reduced by half.

Serve hot.
