Kitchen Renovation Weeks Seven and Eight

Hi Guys,

Today I thought I'd share an update if what’s been done over the last two weeks on our kitchen renovation. We’re definitely heading towards the finish line and I'm so happy we’re close to being able to get get cooking again!

As mentioned in my week six update the goal was to complete the kitchen enough to get the granite templating done at the start of week seven. So at the start of week seven all the units and appliances were in place but were not connected. The granite suppliers came to template on the Tuesdays which was great.

Once the granite templating was completed the builders finished putting the floor down throughout the two rooms, the team then left for the week as I had to isolate in preparation for an operation on my wrist. With the builders not on site my husband then painted the kitchen and laundry room in his spare time over the next few days as I've cheered him on with moral support and drinks.

Week eight of the works started with our pantry door being built and the outer wall of the laundry room being fire boarded and plastered. On the Tuesday the granite was fitted and had to b left for 24 hours for the seal to set. The following days the builders finished up the remaining electrical work, changing plug socket over and connecting all the lights up. They finished the week by fitting the new tap and fully installing the dishwasher.

So now we are in what should be the final week of having the builders here, we still have some more work to do to get the space to where we want it but it’s looking really good and I can’t wait to share the empty kitchen with you next week!

Thanks

Ju x
